your responsibilities

  • Defining problems, opportunities, and success outcomes, while empowering the team to determine how to get there
  • Defining clear project scope, constraints, and priorities to ensure delivery within set timelines
  • Communicating intent through diagrams, sketches, and outlines rather than exhaustive documentation
  • Communicating to users, customer support, and business stakeholders to understand needs, pain points, and strategic direction
  • Pitching shaped work to the leadership team for consideration in upcoming development cycles
  • Identifying potential technical issues upfront and teaming up with senior developers to validate feasibility
  • Keeping specs lean and clear – just enough for the team to get started without overloading on documentation
  • Reviewing delivered work against the original intent and stakeholder needs

what we're looking for

  • Proven experience in IT project management, preferably within the fintech, financial services, or other fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Systems thinking – ability to see how a feature fits into the bigger picture and shape it into a clear, manageable task.
  • UX and technical awareness – ability to sketch interface ideas and understand how they might be implemented, without being a designer or developer.
  • Ability to pitch ideas clearly and concisely in writing and verbally.
  • Customer-centric mindset.
  • Being comfortable with trade-offs and limiting scope to ensure projects are delivered within time constraints.
  • Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and carrying them forward.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with large scale software projects.
  • Experience with finance products and related processes.
