your missionYou’ll take ownership of portfolio performance across Eleving Africa & Asia, identify risks and growth opportunities, and develop and optimize credit strategies that support sustainable growth and portfolio quality. The role offers real responsibility and the opportunity to address complex credit risk challenges across diverse markets.

your responsibilities

  • Create predictive statistical models to support lending strategies
  • Build and support automated loan approval decision engines
  • Through credit rules and underwriting tools, maintain assigned loan portfolio risk indicators to comply with business strategy 
  • Drive data-informed decisions on loan origination processes and credit rules 
  • Conduct regular and ad hoc credit risk reviews
  • Escalate fraud cases, risk outliers, changing portfolio behavior and potential risk drivers 
  • Calculate PDs using different models and techniques
  • Work closely with country management, commercial, collections, and data science teams to improve portfolio performance
  • Ensure high-quality reporting and data analysis
  • Develop in-depth business knowledge and become a trusted advisor to top management on credit risk decisions

what we're looking for

  • Proven experience in credit risk analysis (preferably – in consumer lending or leasing sector)
  • Ability to form & communicate independent views, challenge existing approaches, and recommend changes
  • Degree in economics, finance, mathematics, econometrics or related field 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to details 
  • Experience of working with SQL databases
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn R and/or Python 
  • Proficiency in Excel 
  • Fluent English 
  • Can-do attitude, high sense of responsibility
